Not since Thanksgiving 1999 when we had dinner at Nana‘s house in Sacramento have Jen and I attempted to travel (by car) on a holiday. That night nearly 4 years ago, it took us 1.5 hours from Sacramento to Berkeley, then another 1.5 hours from Berkeley to Treasure Island. That is not good. Tonight we were reminded why we don’t drive on holidays and why that policy needs to go back into full effect. We just returned home — 4 hours later — from Roseville, where we had Easter dinner with Jen’s aunt Liz. Normally, it would be a 2-hour drive, as it took going there. Of course, it’s good to get together with family, but my God, that drive seemed like it was never going to end.
