I used to be on the first page of results in a Google search for gabe. I noticed today that that seems to have changed. Now I don’t show up until the 7th page of results. I’m not sure why. I recently changed all my title tags from “gabeanderson.com: [content]” to “Gabe dot com: [content].” I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Just in case, I changed it back to how I used to have it.
The only other things I can think of that would have caused this demotion — along with my demoted PageRank ranking, according to the IE Googlebar — are recent changes I made to include daily archives along with individual archives, and my change from numeric individual archive URL to text-based archive URL archives. All the numeric individual archives redirect to the same entry with text-based URL. I wonder if Google just hasn’t picked up on that yet.
It’s a mystery to me. Any thoughts?
