Huffington for Governor

Monday, July 14th, 2003 · 7 Comments

Who’s capable of going head-to-head against Arnold should the conservatives engineering the Davis recall get their way?

AlterNet: “That progressive candidate is Arianna Huffington, the wealthy, brilliant writer and TV personality who has confounded progressive circles with her transformation over the past six years from the conservative wife of Republican Congressman Michael Huffington to influential populist leader. Huffington has emerged as arguably the most visible and effective progressive female leader in America.”

I couldn’t agree or support this idea more. There is hope after all. How beautifully poetic would it be if the Republicans lead the way to unseat Davis and a progressive ends up in office? Only in California.

Please, Arianna! Step up to the plate. We need you!

I don’t know if I can really trust her. It’s good that she has made an about face, but is she really sincere? If I had to choose between her and the Grey between good and evil, I think she would be the best choice.

At least she says where she stands on the issues.

Are you kidding? She doesnt say where she stands, because she has her foot in 13 different places!! She is nothing but a hypocritical opportunist, that will say and do anything to get what she wants, and what she wants is simply POWER! Read up on Arianna, her “climb” up the ladder is rather interesting, yet very clear. Heck, she even married homosexual Michael, thinking the connected oil heir would get her in the White House…..this woman knows no limits!

As California often sets the tone politically for the rest of the nation, an Arianna Huffington governorship would send shock waves, and indirectly help the candidacy of Dennis Kucinich, Arianna’s political soul-mate. Arianna for governor!!!

I’m a Ph.D. and a Californian who thinks that the recall is an attempted Republican coup. But it is happening and is a wonderful opportunity to elect a progressive as governor. I support Arianna Huffington and would work for her if something is happening up this way. I live in very northern Humboldt County. She is a welcome change of pace.

I know Americans thrive in ignorance with brainwashing that the rest of the world is undemocratic and hates them for no good reason (save 55 years of dispossessing Palestinians, exploiting the Third World with slave labour, destruction of rainforests, taking their natural resources for nothing – little things!). The rest of the world wonders about the mental condition of Californians to even consider misty-eyed, scripted, bfrainless Ronald Reagan and now Arnie S to be the Chief Executive of the 8th biggest economy of the world with no qualifications or accomplishments in economics, law, contract or business management. No wonder they have a Third World medical and welfare system depriving so many of basic necessities and a jack-booted, racially-prejudiced legal system.

Wake up and realise spite will get you nowhere but professional management capability is the only possibility.

I am watching this debate w/ great glee. What a bunch of crap! The last time I heard something as annoying as this woman was on a Green Acres rerun. Like Gallagher says about CA: its like granola; what is not fruits and nuts are flakes!
    GO ARNOLD—From the right coast.
