Spring is in the Air

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010 · 4 Comments

One thing’s for certain: There’s nothing like five months of a dreary and cold Northeast winter to make one really appreciate the sun (even if we didn’t get much snow this year). So when the temperature climbed to the low 60s yesterday, all I wanted to do was be outside.
Yesterday also happened to be my [...]

“Saratoga Springs: A Mecca for High-Class Living”

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009 · 1 Comment

That’s right. That’s how Jen and I roll: In style in our “mecca for high-class living.” It’s fun to see this promotional video of all the Saratoga sights we know and love:

Well, mostly love… I don’t know about calling D’Andrea’s “one of the best pizzaerias in town.” It’s made me sick a couple times, so [...]

On the heels of the SF Marathon, I ran my third 5k this morning – the First Annual Fasig-Tipton 5k right here in Saratoga Springs – and I destroyed my previous PR (set in April’s Dodge the Deer) by more than a minute (1:14)!
I set out to run sub-20 and I nailed my [...]

Chowderfest 2009

Saturday, February 7th, 2009 · 1 Comment

Last weekend the gang assembled for another rockin’ Chowderfest. The Chandlers hosted the pre-party. Bloody maries and mimosas before noon meant that 9pm would feel late. Really late. Those of you on Facebook have already seen a selection of photographic highlights from the day, and those of you who lived through it have seen them [...]

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008 · 4 Comments

The Saratogian calls it Saratoga’s Wildest Race. Capital News 9 compares it to the Running of the Bulls. Whatever you call it, securing a picnic table for the $1 million Travers race day — the biggest event of the year in Saratoga — is not for the meek at heart. But my wife, being the [...]

The second annual Firecracker 4-Mile Road Race was my 6th career distance [...]

Porch Sitting Season

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008 · 2 Comments

Ahh, porch sitting — the classic Saratoga Springs tradition. It has arrived! And damn do I love it! It’s a beautiful 67 degrees this morning, so there might be some more porch sitting in our future tonight.
Porch sitting with wine & cheese last Tuesday:

Life is good!
By the way, see my mailbox behind me in that [...]

Spring Sun & Bailey’s Fun

Monday, April 14th, 2008 · 1 Comment

On Saturday I ran my longest run to date: Nearly 17 miles. I only stopped for two brief refueling breaks. I felt great at the end. Alex and I had a greasy diner breakfast following the run, then I cruised home and spent the afternoon doing a few hours of yard work.
Later that afternoon, Jen [...]
