If you haven’t watched Lost lately, you’ve missed a couple crazy episodes. The last two weeks of Lost have probably seen more happen than in the entire rest of the season combined. And if you happened to speed through last night’s episode on your Tivo or DVR, you might have missed the commercial toward the end that looked almost like a real commercial.

It was for The Hanso Foundation, the mysterious organization whose leaders and logo appears in the hatch, on videos, and on packages of food that drop from the sky. It’s all a big psychological experiment, we learned last night — or is it all more meaningful, as Mr. Ecko is convinced? Regardless, the commercial last night included a URL:

Can you decode the message? Heir Apparent indeed! Unlocking the code links to the bio section of The Hanso Foundation.

Boy, did I love LOST last year, and despite a few teriific episodes this season, I really can’t help believe feeling that the writers are making it up as they go along. There are so many loose threads, the show is waning interest, and with the addition of a web-based game (That’s what the website(s) are about), several novels that are from the LOST people but have little to do with the show, and the introduction of shameless product placement (last night’s clue…wwww.subLYMONal.com is sponsored by The SPRITE company, “for that great LYMON taste in soda”…I’m angry that I want to get more caught up in the show of which I have so little faith will end satisfactorily. This is TWIN PEAKS all over…

I guess I was pretty vague, but I’ve done a lot of internet searching and reading about the show, and abotu the “game”, and it’s more discouraging as I dive into it. I don’t, however, want to ruin the fun for anyone else by revealing what I know out-in-the-open.

Drop a line if you’re inclined. These are just my rantings!
