The Pissing Game

Warning: Toilet humor ahead…

If you’re happy and you know it and your face can really show it, take a leak:

J20 Pissing Game

This is hilarious. It does a great job simulating what it’s like trying to take a leak when you’re drunk.

Holiday Driving

Sunday, April 20th, 2003 · 1 Comment

Not since Thanksgiving 1999 when we had dinner at Nana‘s house in Sacramento have Jen and I attempted to travel (by car) on a holiday. That night nearly 4 years ago, it took us 1.5 hours from Sacramento to Berkeley, then another 1.5 hours from Berkeley to Treasure Island. That is not good. Tonight we were reminded why we don’t drive on holidays and why that policy needs to go back into full effect. We just returned home — 4 hours later — from Roseville, where we had Easter dinner with Jen’s aunt Liz. Normally, it would be a 2-hour drive, as it took going there. Of course, it’s good to get together with family, but my God, that drive seemed like it was never going to end.

While browsing through my blog referrals, I came across Google’s version of Mini Me:

Very strange. But cool. I’ve never seen this before. Have you? Try for yourself at google.com/ie.

Gumball 3000 Fantasies

Friday, April 18th, 2003 · 4 Comments

If only I had my own Koenigsegg, ridiculous amounts of money, and were living the rockstar lifestyle, I, too, would be competing in this year’s Gumball 3000 Rally from San Francisco to Miami, which got off to a rocky start yesterday:

Cops put brakes on high rollers / Arrests, tickets mark start of notorious coast-to-coast race

Heck, I’d even race my WRX if I had two of the three aforementioned luxuries.

Blechtel

Bechtel to rebuild Iraq / RECONSTRUCTION: Politically connected S.F. firm wins bid

The headline pretty much says it all. Here’s how I see it: Republican-led administration bombs the hell out of Iraq and its infrastructure to the tune of $70 billion (American taxpayers pick up the tab); Republican-friendly (and, ironically, San Francisco-based) construction company is awarded a $680 million contract to rebuild said infrastructure. Only U.S. companies were even considered. Who says American corporations with close ties to the government aren’t profiting from this war?

Be Prepared

Thursday, April 17th, 2003 · 1 Comment

Be Prepared: The motto of not just the Boy Scouts of America, but also CNN, which, according to the The Smoking Gun, likes to have these little memorials handy…just in case. Any bets on whether the current state of affairs in the country, the world, and Iraq would be different if this Cheney obituary were true? I’d put money on it.

(Thanks to Jen via her coworker Denise for the link.)

Stork Club Rockstars

Tuesday night Jen and I hit the quirky Stork Club in Oakland (where there’s a year-round Christmas motif and Barbie dolls and Star Trek action figures lining the bar) to see friend and Jen’s coworker Joe’s band play. Here’s a funny photo of Jen and me rockin’ out:

Counter Accuracy

Thursday, April 17th, 2003 · Comments Off on Counter Accuracy

Today I decided to place my Site Meter counter not only on my blog home page but also on all the other page types in my blog. Why? To get a better representation of the kind of traffic I actually get. People stumble across individual postings in my blog all the time by doing Web searches. So why shouldn’t my counter reflect those visits, too? Other blogs do this. Makes sense to me, even though, technically, Site Meter says you’re not supposed to, I think.

Time Travelers Rule

Thursday, April 17th, 2003 · Comments Off on Time Travelers Rule

This is the greatest story I’ve read in a long time:

Yahoo! TV: Entertainment News & Gossip – ‘TIME-TRAVELER’ BUSTED FOR INSIDER TRADING

Some snippets:

Carlssin declared that he had traveled back in time from over 200 years in the future, when it is common knowledge that our era experienced one of the worst stock plunges in history. Yet anyone armed with knowledge of the handful of stocks destined to go through the roof could make a fortune.

In a bid for leniency, Carlssin has reportedly offered to divulge “historical facts” such as the whereabouts of Osama Bin Laden and a cure for AIDS.

All he wants is to be allowed to return to the future in his “time craft.”

However, he refuses to reveal the location of the machine or discuss how it works, supposedly out of fear the technology could “fall into the wrong hands.”

I love it.
